Raised Catholic --uniform and all-- and appearing "ambiguously ethnic", Susan Harper's natural response was to become a song writing social activist. In 1992, Susan Harper packed her things and left Spokane, WA. With family in Europe, she lived and worked in London, and traveled, before landing in Seattle. Her passion for liberation and social justice fuel her songs and live performances.

With a heart full of stories and a mountain of experience, Susan attracts others who ask questions and want more than simple answers. For her, every performance is a chance to share, reach out, and make a connection.

Over the course of her musical career, Susan led several bands, including The Unusual Suspects. She has entertained a variety of audiences, playing every gig that comes her way from Wine, Women, and Chocolate to the Seattle Farmers Markets to the Rendezvous night club.

In 2006, Susan completed the U of W Song Writing Certificate Program. Her song, The Climb, appeared on the Seattle Songwriters Collective compilation CD. Additionally she studied with the legendary Sue Ennis (Heart, Lovemongers) and Christy McWilson (The Pickets).

Lately, Susan is blending her urban-folk style with a fusion of jazz, funk and rock. Her new band, Susan Harper Conspiracy, is a combination of acoustic guitar, drums, bass and keyboard, laying the grooves for horn player, Micheal Deasy, Jr. (Ticklejunk Allstars) to sour over. Their live performance invites you on a musical tour.
